Most plays are adaptations of one sort or another. Shakespeare adapted Holinshed's histories. O'Neill adapted the Oresteia. Peter Shaffer adapts from
18th century gossip (Amadeus) and 20th century radio reports (Equus). In this workshop, we'll discuss adaptations of novels, non-fiction, and other plays, as
well as write our own one-act adaptations of the best-known story in Western Civilization.

Jeffrey Hatcher’s credits include the Broadway production of NEVER GONNA DANCE (book) and off-Broadway productions of THREE VIEWINGS and A PICASSO at Manhattan Theatre Club; SCOTLAND ROAD and THE TURN OF THE SCREW at Primary Stages; TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE (with Mitch Albom) at The Minetta Lane; MURDER BY POE, TURN OF THE SCREW, and THE SPY at The Acting Company; NEDDY at American Place; FELLOW TRAVELERS at Manhattan Punchline.
