Julia Mauro Bumke is a new work dramaturg who is passionate about fostering playwrights, composers, and librettist at all stages of their careers. She has collaborated on premieres and workshops with the American Repertory Theater, Opera Philadelphia, Music-Theatre Group, Lincoln Center Theater, the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Curtis School of Music, and PEAK Performances, among others. Recent world premiere dramaturgy includes David Hertzberg’s THE WAKE WORLD (Opera Philadelphia; winner, Best New Opera, Music Critics Association of North America); Kristin Kuster and Megan Levad’s KEPT (Virginia Arts Festival); and Matthew Aucoin’s CROSSING (B.A.M. Next Wave 2017). She received her A.B. from Princeton University, and her M.F.A. in Dramaturgy from the A.R.T. Institute at Harvard.
