Former Acting Executive Director

Sabrina Profitt has gained more than 30 years of experience as a performer, theatre maker, and arts educator. Classically trained and devoted to new plays and playwrights, she is a proud and long-standing member of the Actor’s Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. Sabrina’s devotion to PlayPenn’s mission of serving new plays and playwrights began in 2014, when she joined PlayPenn’s New Play Development Conference as an actor.

After that transformative experience, she deepened her artistic engagement with PlayPenn, participating in multiple development projects and Conferences, then expanded her work and commitment by 2017, to the role of Development Coordinator, leading stewardship, donor relations and special events. By mid-2020, it was Sabrina’s honor to become PlayPenn’s Acting Executive Director, after being called upon to provide her leadership, passion and intelligence, in the midst of significant organizational upheaval, stemming from both the COVID-19 pandemic and demands for greater equity in the artistic community.

She accepted this position based on her belief in Play Penn’s mission and its demonstrable track record with organically growing new plays, both locally and further afield. Sabrina received her B.A., magna cum laude, from DeSales University and her MFA in Acting from Florida State University at the Asolo Conservatory. She completed a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University. Sabrina is a Bucks County resident and the mother of three extraordinary daughters and three far less extraordinary dogs.

"As a producer of new work I depend on places like PlayPenn that provide playwrights a safe space to take risks and explore their creative process. I applaud PlayPenn and I encourage you to support their efforts in creating the future of the American stage."
