About The Event
Join Theatre in the X for a special community event presented in partnership with PlayPenn as part of the 2025 New Play Development Conference.
On July 6 at 5pm at Holy Apostles and Mediator Church, enjoy an evening of food, conversation, and creative exploration inspired by Harlem Canary/Tokyo Crow by playwright Andrew Saito.
Led by Theatre in the X Co-Artistic Director Carlo Campbell, this participatory gathering may also include the chance to read or improvise from the play in progress. A reading of the play Harlem Canary/Tokyo Crow will be presented for free on July 13 at 7pm at Painted Bride and July 20 at 2pm at The Proscenium Theatre at The Drake.
Together, we’ll explore themes of division and connection across race, class, nationality, and generation. Come eat, connect, and help shape the stories we tell.
